TAMDAR data
Issue: Pressure Altitude
Details:
Prior to 10/28/2020, MADIS was storing GPS altitude data as pressure altitude data in the ABO netCDF files. This was due to improper encoding of the information from the provider. After 10/28/2020 the pressure altitude is being stored correctly.
OMO precip data (HF-METAR)
Issue: OMO hourly precip is an hour accum starting at the start of the metar hour which generally is minute 42-45 depending on metar site
Details:
Starting with MADIS version 4.0.13 (2025) OMO data is stored under PCP1HA instead of PCP1H. PCP1H is Accumulated Precip - 1h ASOS starttm
OMO data (HF-METAR)
Issue: Stored data by MADIS and data available to the general public.
Details:
From October 27, 2015 - stations reported every minute but are stored only when they matched a 5-minute (0-55/5) time stamp.
Only the 5-minute data is available in MADIS to the public.
